You know I love a quick, easy, & healthy meal. Here is one of my favorite go-to recipes.
These burgers are easy to make & will freeze well... IF you have any leftovers. Serve them on a whole wheat bun, in a wrap, or as a simple patty. They are so tasty you don't really need a sauce, though I love to add ground mustard for a little tang. Add a veggie to the side & your meal is complete.
I choose to cook them on my indoor grill. Though you can also cook them in a skillet.
Prep time: 15 min
Servings: 4
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb ground chicken
1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
1/2 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
S & P to taste
olive oil for cooking
4 burger buns
optional toppings: lettuce, tomato
DIRECTIONS:
Combine ground chicken, spinach, cheese, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, & pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Shape the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties.
Heat skillet over medium heat & drizzle with olive oil. Once oil is hot, place patties in skillet.
Cook patties for 5-6 min per side, or until they reach an internal temp of 165 degrees F & develop a golden-brown crust.
Once cooked, transfer patties to a plate & rest them for a few minutes. Assemble your burgers. Serve & ENJOY!
