Why I Started H3 (My story):
Hi. I’m Stacy. I am the creator, owner, and CEO of H3 Fitness. I have always been the ‘skinny girl’ and a pillar of health. I could eat whatever I wanted without repercussions. I had a job which kept me on the run with little time for exercise or healthy eating. I survived on junk food and caffeine. I remained ‘thin’ and appeared in good health. Until I wasn’t! I’m a 50+ woman who has been through some scary things, but I’m grateful because those experiences led me to where I am today. Let me share a bit about my story: At age 33, I had a medically induced partial hysterectomy, which was incredibly scary. Turning 40, I began the rollercoaster they call menopause, which included waking up in a puddle of sweat nightly, hot flashes that could set the room on fire, and weight gain (which was a whole new and not so fun experience for me). At age 46, I had a health scare that landed me in the ER, thinking I was having a heart attack. (Thankfully, it wasn’t!) At age 47, I had a near mental breakdown, a mid-life crisis, or perhaps I was in total and utter burnout (I’m still not sure what it was!). I was able to dig myself out of the hole I had created by researching and applying valuable information about mindset, daily habits, and stress management. I turned 50 and I was still in menopause with symptoms that persisted and more weight gain. (Fun!) Now, at 50+, I decided it was time to make some changes. I chose to dive headfirst into fitness, nutrition, and behavior change—all necessary components to a lifestyle change that I so desired. Every day is a new start. I’m not perfect; I stumble, but that’s why they call it a ‘journey,’ right? I continue this fitness and health journey today, tomorrow, for life! I want to be able to lift my groceries out of the car, vacuum the house, and do yard work without injury or pain. I want to be fit, healthy, strong, resilient, and energetic! I want to be able to walk around the block and lift myself off the toilet without assistance, when I’m 80!
