When you start your fitness & health journey, you might be feeling a little overwhelmed by the process. Wondering… where do I start? What comes first??? Exercise? Healthy eating? Sleep Hygiene???


The truth is… they are ALL IMPORTANT. And here’s why.


Research has shown that the 4 FOUNDATION HABITS tend to build on one another… if you exercise you are more likely to eat well & hydrate well. If you eat well, you are more likely to exercise. If you sleep well (and enough), you tend to stick to your eating & exercise habits.


WHAT are FOUNDATION HABITS?

  • They are the FOUNDATION for forming other good habits

  • When these 4 habits are in place, other habits are easier to form

  • These 4 habits tend to reinforce each other

    • Sleep

    • Eat/drink right

    • Exercise

    • Unclutter


WHY are they important?

SLEEP- If you are short on sleep, it makes you more susceptible to hunger and temptation.

EXERCISE- Relieves anxiety, boosts energy & mood, improves memory, contributes to weight maintenance.

EAT/DRINK RIGHT- The brain needs food to manage impulses… be sure to feed it well.

UNCLUTTER- For most people, outer order contributes to inner calm which makes the first 3 Foundation Habits easier to achieve.
