Don’t be a statistic!

Did you know that most people who make a New Year’s resolution to start a fitness program fail?

Statistically, 80-88% fail by February or within the first few months.

4 tips to help you stay on track:

  1. Set realistic & specific goals - Setting overly ambitious goals can lead to frustration & burnout quickly.

  1. Stay consistent - Set aside 2-3 times per week to work on your fitness goals. Treat this as an appointment & put it on your calendar. Make sure this appointment time is realistic & fits into your lifestyle. ie-If you are not a morning person, working out at 5am may not be the best approach for you.

  1. Start small - (this goes along with #1). Focusing on intense workouts from the start can lead to injury or fatigue. Start with a 15 min walk 3x/week or choose 3-5 exercises to complete in sets of 3, 2-3x/week. Once this becomes easier, you can add to your routine.

  1. Stay accountable - This may require a fitness ‘buddy’ who can help you stay on track. Or hire a professional that can provide extra motivation & consistency. Tracking your progress can also provide you with much needed feedback.

You got this! Happy New Year!
