This one tip made all the difference for me…

Have you ever finished your meal & felt STUFFED & miserable?! I have. It’s a horrible feeling. You feel physically ill & you mentally beat yourself up for ‘knowing better’.

This was commonplace for me until I learned about MINDFUL EATING.

What is mindful eating?

  • It is ‘mindfully’ paying attention to what you are putting in your mouth… the site, smells, & tastes of each bite.

  • It is savoring each bite to the fullest… chewing slowly & completely. Not rushing or gulping your food.

  • It is noticing INTERNAL CUES for hunger & satiety (the feeling of fullness & satisfaction).

  • It is eating without distractions (like TV or phone)

Benefits of Mindful Eating:

  • Weight Management- Promotes weight loss by reducing binge eating.

  • Improved Digestion- Slower eating improves digestion.

  • Greater Pleasure- Enhances the enjoyment of food and increases satiety.

BONUS TIP: Practice eating until you are 80% full. Let your food settle. It takes approximately 20 minutes for the stomach to signal the brain that you are full.

Mindset is an important component of any fitness & health journey. If you want your improvements to last a lifetime, training your mind is crucial.

Here’s to your health!
