If you’re anything like me… You have a full schedule & your day passes in the blink of an eye.
We all have busy lives so how do we find time to EXERCISE?
This is a common problem for a lot of people. You mean well. You even put it on the calendar, but somehow still can’t make it happen.
It’s not for lack of effort. But what it IS… is a lack of WILLPOWER. Your willpower is like a muscle… it is depleted with use, stress, hunger, or fatigue which leads to reduced self-control.
Truth be told… willpower is limited. We all have a limited supply. Our willpower is the strongest when we first wake in the morning. And as our day goes on our willpower dwindles.
Think of it like this… your willpower is like a gas tank. Your tank is full when you wake in the morning… and as you go through your day, it takes ‘gas’ from your tank. Depending on how your day progressed… your tank may be ON EMPTY by day’s end.
That can make it hard to exercise!
So how do you COMBAT THE LACK OF WILLPOWER?
Here are some STRATEGIES you may want to try when it comes to exercise:
• Exercise first thing in the morning, before you get too busy & your willpower is strong
• Put your workout clothes on as soon as you get out of bed- this tells your brain it’s time to exercise
• Keep your walking shoes by the door- visual reminder (cue)- no thinking required
• Find a workout ‘buddy’- help keep each other motivated
• Hire a professional trainer for accountability
• Make it convenient- walk around the block, right outside your door
• Choose an activity you enjoy- pickleball, yoga, running- make it fun
You can do this!
