Habits That Control us...

THOSE *#$%@ CHEESE CRACKERS!
Have you ever experienced laying in bed feeling bloated, miserable and fighting acid reflux for a moment of peaceful sleep?! I have!
Telling yourself for the umpteenth time... 'I'm never eating those cheese crackers (insert your favorite bad for you snack right here) again! Why do I do this to myself?!'….
The truth is… it’s really my husband’s fault! He’s the one with the cheese cracker addiction…. He brings that annoying orange box to the couch every night around 7pm and eats those crackers in front of me! How can I NOT eat them?!
We, unknowingly, begin to pick up the HABITS of those around us. You know how they say couples start looking and acting alike…. Well... there you go! I am turning into my husband!
Not really… but, I have picked up some of his habits. Both good and bad. And I would like to think he has picked up some of mine (only the good ones of course). LOL… It’s a HABIT! A bad habit! Those cheese crackers had a grip on me, and I had to ‘fix it’!
We all have them. Those HABITS THAT CONTROL US. Some are good. Some not so good. After all, we have a habit of tying our shoes a certain way and we don’t even think about it any longer… we just DO IT! The SAME WAY, again and again. WITHOUT EVEN THINKING ABOUT IT! At some point we all have learned to tie our shoes, take the drive to work, and EAT THE CHEESE CRACKERS without even thinking about it!
HABITS. They are tricky little boogers. They find their way into our daily lives without much notice. At some point you made a conscious decision to TAKE ACTION, but somehow, you no longer make a conscious decision about some of your behaviors, they have become AUTOMATIC… and now you are living by a ROUTINE- a series of HABITS- day in and day out.
So how do you consciously change a habit? How do you apply POSITIVE HABITS in your daily life to change things like exercise, diet, & sleep patterns? There is a PROCESS to changing a habit. And here at H3 Fitness, we can help you with that.
