This might surprise you... Have you ever tried yoga?

When I exercise, I like to incorporate STRENGTH, FLEXIBILITY, & BALANCE moves. All three are necessary for overall fitness, especially as we get older.
Weight training has many benefits including muscle mass, strength, & healthy bones to name a few.
Flexibility training increases joint range of motion & reduces injury risk.
Balance training strengthens core muscles, enhances coordination, and significantly reduces fall risks.
But one of my favorite exercises is a yoga pose called DOWN DOG. It looks simply, but it has so many benefits.
It is a weight-bearing pose that builds strength in the arms, shoulders, upper back, hands, wrists, legs and core muscles.
It helps stretch the spine, hamstrings, calves, feet, shoulders, and chest.
It improves posture & relieves pain, especially after prolonged sitting.
So next time you exercise, try incorporating a few yoga poses. The benefits are many.
