THE SCALE DOESN'T TELL THE WHOLE STORY

Have you ever stepped on the scale only to see that the number isn't moving as much as you would like? It can be frustrating & confusing. You are working hard on your fitness & nutrition, but not seeing the results you would like.

Consider this... Jeans don’t lie. Leggings lie!

If you want to know where you stand in your fitness journey… ditch the leggings & put on that pair of jeans from the back of your closet. Sometimes it’s easier to recognize progress when facing it head on. Progress is not just the number on the scale.

You can be making progress with little change on the scale... and here are some reasons why:

1- Water retention. Your body is composed of over 60% water. Therefore, you weight can fluctuate as much as 2-5 lbs. in a day. Water retention can occur due to high-sodium intake, hard workouts, & hormonal changes.

2- Muscle weighs more than fat. Rather than focusing on the number on the scale, pay attention to your body composition & your body fat percentage. These are a better indication of where you really are in your fitness journey.

3- Your digestion is 'off'. Constipation, slow digestion, & bloating can add pounds to the scale. To keep your digestion on track, stay hydrated, eat plenty of fiber, & stay active.

4- Stress & lack of sleep. Both can increase cortisol, leading to water retention & food cravings. Both of which can add to the number on the scale.

So truly you could be making big strides but the scale does not change. Your jeans tell the true story. How do they fit? How go they look? Is the waist bigger? Is the booty pop in’?! Are the thighs tighter/looser??! Your jeans tell the real story.

Focus on your daily healthy habits. Eat nutritious, whole foods. Be consistent with your workout routine.

Gains may be slower than you like, but slow IS progress. Lasting progress! Embrace those jeans! You got this!
