While formal exercise sessions are important to your health & fitness. Did you know there is another way to boost your daily energy expenditure? It’s called NEAT.

NEAT stands for (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis)- the calories that you burn through daily activities other than formal exercise.

Examples of NEAT include:

• Taking the stairs

• Pacing while talking on the phone

• Doing chores

• Gardening

• Parking further away

• Playing with pets/grandkids

By intentionally adding more movement to your routine, you can significantly impact your daily energy expenditure. This can help with weight management and overall health.

HOMEWORK: Think about your daily routine & how you can add small changes to increase your daily NEAT and improve your health.

I would love to hear your NEAT ideas. Drop a comment here. This might help someone else looking for NEAT ideas too.
