What would it feel like to get a solid 7-9 hours of restful sleep each night? How would this make your waking hours more productive & enjoyable? How can you make this happen? Read on for 8 Tips to get you started.
You have probably heard that having a morning routine that includes things such as exercise, reading, mediation, & journaling can contribute to your health, wellbeing, & overall success in life.
But have you ever considered an evening routine?
It is known that getting 7-9 hours of restful sleep can aid your health & wellness in many ways, including strengthening your immune system & reducing the risk of illness. Not to mention feeling more rested & having loads of energy to boot.
Having an evening routine can contribute to more restful sleep & be just as beneficial as a morning routine.
To establish a healthy evening routine, consider these 8 TIPS:
1) Set a consistent bedtime to regulate your sleep cycle.
2) Limit screen time at least an hour before bed to reduce blue light exposure.
3) Engage in a relaxing activity, such as reading, stretching, meditation, or breathing exercises to unwind.
4) Avoid eating heavy meals before bedtime. If you have concerns such as acid reflux or frequent trips to the bathroom at night, you can benefit from avoiding eating / drinking anything at least 2 hours before bedtime.
5) Create a calming environment by dimming lights and reducing noise. Keep your bedroom cool at night for restful sleep. Lavender sleep spray is calming & can be sprayed on sheets, pillows & night clothes to add to a relaxing environment.
6) If you have difficulty falling asleep, consider listening to soothing music or a guided meditation.
7) Take a warm bath or sip a cup of warm decaffeinated herbal tea.
8) Reflect on your day by journaling or practicing gratitude to promote mental well-being.
Establishing an evening routine that promotes restful sleep is just as important to your health & wellbeing as a morning routine. Better yet, do BOTH!
